Secret Chocolate Cake Recipe!

Secret Chocolate Cake Recipe!

My Secret Chocolate Cake Recipe!

I shared this a year ago and you went nuts but I never actually got it on the website so here it is.

I started my cake business with this recipe! I wanted a cake that would stack, stay moist and taste DELICIOUS and after lots of trial and error this has been my tried and true method.

Here’s the recipe:

1 pound butter melted

1 1/2 cup oil

2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder

3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

6 cups of white sugar

13 eggs

2 TBL real vanilla

1 chocolate cake mix

1 small box instant chocolate pudding

6 cups flour

1 TBL salt

1 TBL baking powder

2 cups sour cream

1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Watch the video HERE to get a walk through of how to make the batter.

Bake at 350 till cooked completely through. You can make cake rounds, cupcakes and even CakePucks!

Here is what approximately one batch of my chocolate cake batter will make.

I use my trusty scoop (18/8 size) which I got at Sam’s club in a two pack. It holds about 1/2 cup of batter. There are about 36-40 scoops in one batch.

Here are some measurements but you’ll have to do math for the rest. (I believe it would make 2 9x13s, maybe a little more.) I don’t fill my pans more than 2/3 full.

6” round = 3 scoops

8” round = 6 scoops

10” square = 9 scoops

If I remember correctly you will get about 48 cupcakes from one batch. There is a reason I’m not a food blogger 😂 I make it and then when I run out, I make some more.

This is a recipe for when you want to make a knock your socks off delicious moist cake that leans towards the brownie family. It stacks well and has a delicious chocolate flavor. And of course, leftovers make great cake pucks. Some people have reported they love using this recipe for cake pucks but it's a lot of work and so if you're in a hurry using a cake mix will give you fantastic taste that you can crumble and add frosting to.

Happy Caking and Happy Pucking!
