Note: This fondant is great for toppers and shapes, but it's not quite stretchy enough to use it to cover cakes.
Ingredients
16 oz Marshmallows (use a quality brand)
1/2 C Crisco (plus a little more to grease the bowl)
4 TBL Water
2 lb. bag Powdered sugar
Directions
1. Lightly grease a microwave safe bowl, pour in your marshmallows, and microwave for 1 minute.
2. Add Crisco, and stir until well incorporated.
3. Add about 3/4 of your powdered sugar, mix in as much as you can using a spatula, then mix with gloved or clean hands.
4. Mix this fondant like you're kneading bread dough, fold it, squish it, keep incorporating.
5. Once you've mixed it as much as you can using your hands, add in water, fold your fondant, and keep kneading.
6. Add in remainder of powdered sugar and keep repeating the process of kneading!
7. Let it rest in a plastic bag for a while, the longer it rests the stretchier it will get!
That's it! I like to use cornstarch when rolling the fondant out, you can also use gel dye to make this fondant any shade you want!
